About

ABOUT US

"O you who believe! Keep your duty to Allah and fear Him, and always speak the truth. He will direct you to do righteous good deeds and will forgive your sins. And whosoever obeys Allah and His Messenger, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, he has indeed achieved a great achievement."
(Quran, 33:70-71)

OUR MISSION

Serving Allah (ﷻ) by serving and strengthening the broader community in Edmonton.

OUR VISION

Through mentorship, cultivate Muslim youth into visionaries dedicated to nusrah and community service

OUR ETHOS

We seek to serve Allah (ﷻ) by addressing the spiritual, physical, psychological and social needs of our community through empowering young Canadian Muslims and instilling them with a strong sense of identity and purpose in order to cultivate them into well-balanced leaders. This will be achieved by fostering Brotherhood and Sisterhood while providing meaningful opportunities for involvement, growth, and development as individuals, as a group and as a community. Our primary means of growth and development will be through education, providing wholesome social activities for people to enjoy, and cultivating a sense of community service by assisting the less fortunate. While we are an autonomous and independent entity that is not officially affiliated with any organization, we frequently seek avenues for collaboration, cooperation and partnership with other institutions. The Ansar Youth Association is a charitable organization that employs its assets and resources for the betterment of our whole community, not the financial benefit of its members.

OUR STRUCTURE

The Leadership Team is comprised of: Directors, Executives who hold specific Portfolios and Honorary Executives.

Directors are specific Board Members who are responsible for overseeing the affairs of the organization by addressing a particular and essential domain. This entails coordinating and collaborating with the other Leadership Team Members and Volunteers whose roles fall under their care.

Executives with Portfolios are tasked with overseeing a specific responsibility related to the organization’s operations and work with the Director who oversees the domain related to their role.

Honorary Executives are extremely active Brothers or Sisters interested in administrative participation but do not occupy a particular Portfolio because it is either already occupied or because they prefer to remain flexible to assist in several domains or on several varying projects.
